We bring a new addition to the Seoul 69 Radio series with Volume 3: Groove Theory. We focus on the groovy R&B music from around the world, including jpop icon Utada Hikaru, Pete Rock, Mondo Grosso, Monday Michiru, and more.

With a large influx of R&B music coming out of North America and Europe from the mid 90's to early 2000's, pop music transformed to a slower-yet-groovy atmosphere. We have Pete Rock's killer 1998 album 'SOUL SURVIVOR' in the third volume Seoul 69, featuring 'Take Your Time.' Utada Hikaru's debut album 'FIRST LOVE' in 1999 is filled with R&B goodness, with her timeless song 'Automatic' featured in this mix. We move onto 'Ride,' a 90's R&B anthem sung by Amel Larrieux's Groove Theory. We have a back-to-back feature of Mondo Grosso, an iconic producer/DJ in Japan, featuring two songs during his R&B and Acid Jazz phase in the late 90's. Next is 'In Utopia' by Monday Michiru, a pioneer of Jazz and R&B music in Japan. With Faith Evans, DJ Tonk, and Brian McKnight following Mondo Grosso we go to South Korea, a country with tons of hidden gems from the 90's. South Korea's behemoth k-pop industry was established with R&B and New Jack Swing. Sumin's 'Brown' featuring Hoody is an homage to the 90's era of k-pop that started the music industry in South Korea. The last song "I'm Your Girl," by S.E.S., is a classic song of 90's k-pop.
